Flooding January 2016 Killeagh-Castlemartyr N25

Happy new year to all.

Hopefully you didn’t get caught up in the floods towards the turn of the new year. 340 mm of rain fall certainly didn’t help the rebel county where we are based but fortunately in Youghal our biggest but less devastating problem in 2015 was the sea as usual where we have to batten down the hatches from time to time, typically when there’s a full moon, high tide and strong southerly gale!!! Believe me IT HAPPENS!!!  There’s rumours our beloved board-walk which created a great facility to locals and tourists alike has been seen by the  NASA space station crossing the atlantic!!

Our sympathy goes out to all who were devastated by the flooding all over the country. 30 tonne bags of sand from our builders providers sister company Denis Broderick and Sons Ltd didn’t do much for the flooded N25 road between Killeagh and Castlemartyr last Sunday. Looks like the future could be riddled with these uncertain weather patterns which will not be easy to prepare for. The planets higher average temperature is most certainly not helping things so lets hope the future is bright with the enthusiastic developments being led by the EU to combat climate change.

Paris Agreement Dec. 2015

At the Paris climate conference (COP21) in December 2015, 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal.

The agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2°C.The agreement is due to enter into force in 2020.
